Film Stripped Productions is a Cleveland-based production company specializing in documentary films and experimental multimedia shorts that explore local communities, lived experiences, and the possible interactions with the medium itself. Together with our sister companies, Film Stripped Conversion and Film Stripped Custom Media, we serve the greater Cleveland area by helping individuals and organizations document, preserve, and communicate meaningful experiences through expressive visual storytelling.
Our mission is to leverage film and visual media to document, interpret, and preserve the diverse experiences that shape life in Northeast Ohio. Rooted in Cleveland and committed to collaboration, we work with local talent and artists—whether lifelong residents or those who now call Northeast Ohio home—to tell stories that preserve community histories, foster thoughtful dialogue. and expand opportunities for independent visual media.
We seek to strengthen the region's artistic ecosystem by connecting visual artists with documentary, experimental, and mixed-media filmmaking opportunities. Founder, Lead Filmmaker
Paul D. Peters is the founder of Film Stripped Productions and a documentary and experimental filmmaker based in Northeast Ohio. He is also a Professor of Film Studies at Baldwin Wallace University and holds a Ph.D. from the Ohio University School of Interdisciplinary Arts.
His academic research examines the intersections of privilege, identity, and spectatorship in American cinema, while his creative work focuses on documenting, preserving, and investigating lived experiences through film and mixed media. Drawing on prior experience as an Assistant Director and Production Assistant in Athens, Ohio, Peters approaches filmmaking as both an expressive and ethnographic practice, using the possibilities of visual media to encourage reflection, dialogue, and engagement with local communities. Through Film Stripped Productions, he is committed to cultivating independent filmmaking opportunities and building a lasting visual record of the diverse stories and experiences that shape the Greater Cleveland area.
